My room…

So I went to Michigan last weekend, and actually had a really good time. Yes, the weather sucked, but that was to be expected. I really enjoyed seeing some friendly faces. I stayed at my Aunt Sharon’s house in Shelby Township, where most of my musical instruments were being stored. I really enjoyed seing her, and getting my stuff (When I moved to California, everyone dispersed around the country and my stuff went different places, so I’m piecing it all together).
I drove up Thursday and got into town at around 5:00pm. My first stop was microcenter which is the last place I worked before I moved. I saw some of my old coworkers. Then I headed over to Somerset Mall, where I also used to work, but my particular store went out of business just over 2 years ago (it was definately my favorite job). After leaving the mall, I drove past my old house in Troy where I lived the first 18 1/2 years of my life. While I was there, I decided to stop to see one of my friends that lived right down the street. Rhonda was excited to see me, and I her. We decided to walk around Somerset and have a bite to eat at the food court.
On Friday, I started the day buy heading to Classic Auto Showplace, which was a father/son hangout for Dad and I. I talked to Dave who owns the place (and who has also sold a car to each Dad and I), and he was happy to hear we were both doing well. Then I headed back to microcenter to see some of the people that hadn’t been working the day before. After that I went to my old schools to see some of my favorite teachers. At Troy High, I saw Mr. Mastrovito and Ms. Yax. At Boulan I saw Mrs. Griffith. And at Bemis I saw Ms. Charbeneau, Mrs. Buczek, and Mrs. Rekucki. And by coincidence, while I was at Bemis, Mary Doyle, Jake, and Brooke were there too. It was really nice to see them. After getting done there, I went to Oakland Mall where I saw my friend Robbin (she was my boss at Dapy, and she’s now working at Aeropostale). She found me some really good deals at her store, so now I actually have nice clothes again.
On Saturday I drove around for a while just seeing the old sites. Then Alexis came over to Sharon’s house for dinner and it was nice seeing her again. After dinner I saw my friend Meghan. We walked around Birmingham for a while (and yes, we were crazy for doing that) with some of her friends, the went back to her house to watch some T.V.
On sunday I saw Rhonda again, and we went to petco to see some cute critters, then we drove to Great Lakes Crossing and walked around for a while. After I drove her back home I went to my friend Brian’s house in Royal Oak. Robbin also came so it was great seeing both of them again.
Then unfortunately I drove back on Monday. I actually kind of want to move back to Michigan again, but hopefully that thought will pass.
Well I was in Las Vegas last night and this morning, and I think I’ve realized that I don’t want to move there. Don’t get me wrong, I love Vegas, but it was different this time. I think the reason I liked it before is that I was there with family, and this time I was there all alone. I was driving aimlessly around the city and I realized how crappy it actually is. I don’t know what to do. I like being out here so I can see Steve and Michael, but I wouldn’t mind being in Tennessee and being closer to mom’s side of the family. Argh…
I just got back from Palm Springs visiting Steve and Mike and it was great. It was 113 degrees today, but it was dry so it was tolerable. I’m going back next weekend for a bbq, so that should be fun. If anyone wants to check out their resort, go to The Triangle Inn.
Ok, here’s my schedule;
5:45 a.m.: go to school
12:00p.m.: get out of school
1:00p.m.: go to work
9:00p.m.: get out of work
9:30p.m.: pass out in my bed…
So that’s why I’ve been so tired. The job’s kind of fun though, I just go in and fix a bunch of lawn mowers. It could be a valve job, new short block, new crank, new anything and every thing. But at least I’m getting $10/hour, so that feels good.
So I was sitting in my apartment watching TV, when I saw a REALLY bright light on my balcony. I went outside to see what was going on when I saw a helicopter circling my apartment complex with it’s searchlight roaming the property. So I got my roommate and we stood outside to try to figure out what was going on when all of a sudden a flashlight was shining in my face. It was a police officer who was searching for someone. He asked us if we had seen anyone go by, and we told him we hadn’t then asked what he looked like. He said he was mexican, the pointed the flashlight in my face and said, “and actually looks just like you.” And he was dead serious! I got scared for a second then informed him that I was white, and had been in my apartment for quite some time. Then he left and kept searching. I guess they didn’t find the guy last night by the time they called off the search. Oh well, it was definately interesting.
